HDC Concepts is a company comprised of veteran instructors with years in the firearms Industry. Our instructors come from both civilian and law enforcement backgrounds holding various certifications such as Texas Law Enforcement / TCOLE, NRA firearms instructor certifications.

I was lucky enough to take the Long Range Precision course with HDC Concepts in March of 2020. The instruction and course outline is very clear and presented in a manner that allows people with varying degrees of experience grasp the concepts quickly. One of the things that I personally enjoyed was using my own equipment a lot of supposed Long Range courses are far more expensive and are based on using the gear, rifles, scopes ammunition they are selling! (Its is like paying to be in an infomercial) The course really allowed me to test and refine my shooting system, improve my form and practice exercises.

The course was excellent I have recommended it to other people and will take it again what ever level Basic, Intermediate or advanced when ever the next course is announced.

  The training, drills and experience from the 2 day course (Great shooting system a very capable caliber) was a big reason I was able to make a clean ethical one shot kill on a very nice bull elk at a range a lot of people would not even consider.

My first course with HDC was the basic carbine course. I had shot my AR maybe 3 times before that and I wanted to become more comfortable with my AR as well as improve on my response time and accuracy. I learned SO much that day. I then took their Ladies Basic Pistol Course. I have shot pistols more than an AR so I was more comfortable but I figured it never hurts to go back over the basics. I shot a new pistol I had just gotten and can I just say WOW. By the end of the day, I was hitting steel at 55-60 yards. With a pistol. I’ve never hit a target at that distance accurately. HDC teaches you the right way the first time and takes you through drills to help you with accuracy and improving on speed as well as body position and proper stance. I also did a second carbine course and in just 1 week of the first one. I improved drastically with the guidance and tips from Kirby and Cris. The instructors are military veterans as well as law enforcement officers that truly know the ins and outs of shooting, safety, ballistics, technique, and all the little things that make you a great shot. These courses have made me more than confident that I can defend myself and my family should that time come. I can’t recommend HDC Concepts enough. I can’t wait to take more courses with this group!!!

Kirby Evans, Owner

Kirby Evans is a career law enforcement officer in the state of Texas. He currently holds a Master Peace Officer License. He has a passion for training as well as teaching firearms and tactics. He is constantly in search of knowledge in all things life related. Among other accomplishments, Kirby has been a long range precision rifle competitor since 2012. Kirby is an accomplished competitor with multiple 1st place division wins at different matches. Kirby has taught thousands of officers over his career in law enforcement. He is certified as an instructor in the following areas.

Cris Hinojosa, Lead Instructor

Cris Hinojosa is a certified NRA Basic Pistol instructor, CSAT certified TAC Rifle Instructor as well a Concealed Carry firearm instructor with a passion for training, teaching, and firearms. He believes in the continuous search of knowledge and has previously attended and continues to regularly attend training courses in multiple firearms disciplines. Cris has been a shooting sports competitor for over 30 years and has competed in IPSC, USPSA, IDPA, 3-gun, Multi-gun, Precision Rifle Series and other local and state wide defensive shooting matches. Cris also has a passion for hog hunting and has a great deal of experience hunting, shooting and training others to hunt, shoot and effectively use the latest Night Vision Devices, Thermal devices and lasers. Cris also proudly served in the US Army as a Paratrooper

Luis Espindola, PSD Instructor

Luis Espindola served in the US Marine Corps with 3rd Battalion 5th Marine Regiment assigned to Weapons Company Mobile Assault Platoon Alpha. He is a combat veteran who served in Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Luis also served as an 0913 Marine Combat Instructor assigned to 1st Marine Division Schools Forward. During his time at Division Schools he was trained and selected to instruct the Protective Security Detail course. After leaving the Marines Luis became a private military contractor for Aegis Defense Services LLC and deployed as a part of the US State Departments Worldwide Protective Services Program conducting diplomatic security operations in high threat environments overseas. He then attended the Corpus Christi Police Academy and attained a TCOLE Basic Peace Officers License. While still holding and Texas Peace Officer License Luis advanced in his career to become a high threat security consultant for another private military contracting firm and continues to deploy overseas on a regular basis.

Along with Luis’s TCOLE Peace Officer’s License and U. S. Marine Corps instructor certifications for PSD, he is also certified by the International Foundation for Protection Officers as a Certified Protection Officer (CPO) Licensed and a USG Precision Weapons Course Graduate. Luis was selected to be the Lead Protective Security Detail, Executive Protection Operations Instructor by HDC Concepts in 2020.
